Shen Xianhua, Chief Engineer of the project at China Railway 25th Bureau Group Corporation Limited, explained that the Xiahuangtian Tunnel spans 7,377 meters, passing through geological fracture zones and karst development zones with abundant groundwater and complex geological conditions. It presented great construction difficulties and high risks, making it a key and controlling project of the entire high speed railway construction. During the construction, innovative techniques and equipment were employed, including monitoring harmful gases, real-time imaging surveillance, and 3D holographic scanning analysis, ensuring the smooth progress of construction.
The Meizhou-Longchuan High Speed Railway is a 350-kilometer-per-hour high speed railway project independently invested and constructed by Guangdong Province. The line extends from the Meizhou-Shantou Railway’s Meizhouxi Railway Station, passing through Xingning Railway Station and Wuhua Railway Station, to the Longchuanxi Railway Station of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High Speed Railway within Heyuan City, with a total new mainline length of 93.98 kilometers. This project is interconnected with the existing Meizhou-Shantou Railway and serves as a part of the high speed passenger transportation route linking Eastern Guangdong with Central and Northern China. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will accelerate the economic development of the old revolutionary areas in Eastern Guangdong and facilitate the lives and travels of the local residents.
